The Senior Payroll Manager is a central figure in daily operations. The role requires experience and acute attention to detail in overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll across the family of companies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency within multi-entity payroll operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, have a deep understanding of payroll systems and compliance, be able to partner closely across all levels of the organizations, and bring a proactive mindset to process improvement and employee service.

This position is full-time in the office, Monday-Friday.

What You'll Do:

  • Own full-cycle payroll processing for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate payroll across all employee types (hourly, salary, commission-based, etc.).
  • Maintain compliance with federal, multiple states, and local laws, including tax filings, deductions, and wage and hour regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate employee data, benefits deductions, and accounting entries.
  • Implement and refine payroll systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll-related matters, providing guidance to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, journal entries, and audits as needed.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships, including payroll software, benefits administrators, and external auditors.
  • Support special projects and initiatives such as system migrations, policy updates, compensation initiatives, and acquisitions across the organization.

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned payroll professional with 8+ years of hands-on, multi-entity payroll experience.
  • Highly skilled in payroll systems and reporting tools (e.g., UKG, ADP, Paylocity, or equivalent).
  • Experienced in multi-state payroll and fast-paced, high-growth organizations.
  • Skilled at leading and mentoring teams, especially through periods of scaled growth and operational change.
  • Knowledgeable of federal and state payroll regulations, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, with a passion for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities across a diverse portfolio of companies.
  • A collaborative communicator who can partner effectively with executive and senior leadership teams.
